Ironic how I'm only really free just before exams are about to start =( But nevertheless I'm taking the long weekend to relax and recuperate before I gear up again to mug
Hall accommodation has recently become a big issue. Apparently the cutoff points went up due to point inflation and NUS CCA points. Just when I was taking about point inflation and the mad idea of an "exchange rate" for points between halls =P
In any case KE's cutoff was 54 and that was my point total exactly so I managed to secure a place. I can't image it takes so much work just to stay in hall. Granted the cutoff was higher this year, but can you imagine what if I hadn't been so kiasu from the beginning about points? I would be like the others now assigned to PGP, Kuok or forced to go back home.
Well I thank to Lord for my foresight, as well as my decision not to join RVR. Next year's stay would have been dependent on a consecutive teamNUS placing and I anticipated the competition would be higher, not to mention it was recently announced it would now be dependent on competition attendance too! I wonder if they will penalize us for not going for the Princess Cup in Thailand in June. Not everyone can make it, and mostly due to lack of funds. If they use that as a reason, it would be quite unfair of them and they're going to have to deal with me..
On Tuesday I went back to school for a visit. Mostly the architecture has changed a little but the people I know who are still there are the same =) Met Ms Philo and Ms Mazni who updated me on some stuff regarding Mr Allen who's getting married and some changes to the school. Met Gen for lunch, having brought something from NUS for her. I agree that the canteen food has deteriorated! And the turnstile at the back gate is as retarded as everyone says it is haha! Went to see Mr Syed and catch up a little. Sat and chatted about everything until we both left school to head back home. I'm going to buy a new lens soon, a 50mm f1.8 or maybe f 1.2 depending on if it can still fit within my budget. If it's over $200 I don't think I'll get it, but it'll be an awesome lens for the shots I'm taking now =)
Anyway these last few days have been awesome! Been able to go shopping (FINALLY!) and on Friday everything I needed to get seemed to be no problem to find and the first thing I tried fit perfectly =) If only shopping could always be like that!
Am making panna cotta against today! Dad suggested it at random last night and I thought why not! Haven't been dessert making in a while and I know they like my panna cotta so why not? XD
Bryine-the crazy guy that he is-came all the way to my house just to try it for the first time because I promised him the last time I made it.. haha the crazy things we do
