In any case, I've left I@@y's because I'm starting school soon..
I can't say I'm really sad to leave although I did have some good times there. It's just whatever little good came out of it really doesn't make up for everything else.
And I realise most of the things I enjoyed usually only involved the kitchen staff, so that says alot..
I'm going to miss Hafiz and the sweet little things he does for me, the kitchen staff and their hilarious antics, Mike and his Nestlo!! Pawan and his whole array witty retorts..
But aside from that I think I've had enough of everything end everyone. The last few days were especially difficult since Ian and I were handling the private groups and he tends to disappear when he feels like it or something is upsetting him.. Imagine clearing, setting and serving 11 people all by yourself.. Thank god Mike was nice enough to lend me a hand once in a while.. I think daily "abuse" is not even the right word..
Paolo asked me to ask my friends if any of them wanna join Iggy's then chastised me for not trying hard enough when I didn't find anyone.. I mean come on! During service he'll tell me to do things that don't even make sense and put me down for trying to make sense of it by saying that it's not my place to question what the manager says..
During roll call before service, he'll reprimand us for congregating and chit chatting when we should be at our stations and lo and behold, during service he himself is having laughs with the other 2 while we're running around like fools..
Of the three he's the most hypocritical and quick to judge..
Ian, well what can I say.. Working with him is like praying for good weather.. if he's happy, service with him goes well. But he gets just a little upset or something doesn't go his way he disappears for long stretches at a time to do some DEEEEEP thinking/sulking.. At least if PDR is open I can handle it by myself but if it's a large group like the other day, my god I'm in trouble.. He snaps his fingers at everyone to come and help him like he's calling dogs, but sometimes for the sake of speed and efficiency I tend to ignore these things..
Pawan, is generally ok but is extremely particular about how he works, to the point that it makes it impossible for anyone else to work with him. But generally he's the most level minded of the three, however it doesn't stop him from slacking off after service like the rest of them when it suits him..
Mike!
God bless him.. he's been working with Iggy since forever and I wonder why he's still around even though we have these kinds of people working above us.. I really think he should find another place which would appreciate his experience and hard work more.. He's friendly with the kitchen which I think is a wise thing to do despite what the management tells us.
Gilbert.. well he's ok. Like me he's extremely focused during work which tends to make him appear unfriendly and brusque. Been a pretty good colleague to me and Mike and the three of us really had to work together when the management decides to do skive.. unfortunately he comes off a little strong and is a little intense about the things he wants.. =S I do regret a little being too friendly with him at first.. I guess some people misinterpret "friendly" too much..
Kitchen antics are always the highlights of the day.. aside from whatever comes out of Pawan's mouth =P
The kitchen are a little closer and half a little more team work then service.. I guess it's probably because lines are usually blurred when it comes to the kitchen and also due to the little difference in age gap across the kitchen staff.
It surprises me that everyone there is within the 20 age range..
Well on my second last day, it was like a flashback of my third day. Sometimes, people are worst behaved in restaurants, especially guys.... Alcohol tends to diminish one's standards of modesty..
In any case, I took pictures of my workplace.. if anything I find our decor really interesting..
