I'm a workaholic. I think when I start working full time I'm in danger of being one. Maybe it's because I usually pour my heart in so completely into whatever I do, I have barely enough left for anything else.

Note to self: TAKE IT EASY!!

Let's see, so far I've gotten into the rhythm of working at I@@y's. In just a few weeks I can do exactly what the full timers do except the wine and the explanations. But learning so fast has meant that I'm piled with a whole lot of responsibilities everyday and everyone insists on pulling me in different directions to help them.

There are only 6 of us, with 3 of us being the management and 3 waiters including me. Being a small restaurant, there is very little order. It's mostly every man for himself and no one looking out for anyone. We can be joking one minute but in the next second they can turn around and stab you in the back. Very little justice and fairness as far as work goes also. This is why I left my very first job as a waitress to join Subway. At least in Subway there is an established HR and SOPs, but here there are so few people and it gets really personal sometimes and without established duties combined with the presence of alcohol, the management tend to skive when it suits them =( So if we're lucky and if they decide to grace us with their help, we all don't have to go home at 3am =D

Teamwork is mostly non existent and any semblance of smooth operations occurs because I'm running around covering every one's mistakes and short comings. I think I need to care less, let their oversights come around to bite them in the ass..

I have to say starting at the bottom of the food chain again has it's challenges. Some of my friends wonder why I left Subway when it was easy money. But aside from the personal politics flying around at I@@y's, I don't regret having made the switch in jobs. Without fail, I learn something new everyday and that's what Subway failed to provide..

But I have to say, in my short time here I've served Madam Ho Ching, countless MPs and shipping and banking tycoons. I think there are really too many for me to name. But this restaurant is like a hot spot for business lunch and dinners. Keep your ears open! hahaha
And everyday is like a Hermes fest!!! It takes a concerted effort to stop myself from drooling =D
